Another journalist killed in Iraq as security forces crack down on media

An Iraqi journalist reporting for the satellite television station al-Ittijah, whose name remains unknown, was among those killed Thursday in a blast that targeted a celebration in the city of Ramadi, Aswat al Iraq news agency reported Monday. Journalist gunned down in Pakistan's violent Balochistan

The Committee to Protect Journalists joined the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) in calling for an investigation into the drive-by shooting death of Abdost Rind , a 27-year-old part-time journalist in the Turbat area of Balochistan province in Pakistan's southwest on February 18. Journalist killed outside own home in Iraq by unidentified gunmen

Press freedom groups have condemned journalist Hilal Al-Ahmadi’s murder Thursday in the northern city of Mosul. TV technician killed in Coahuila attacks

Gunmen staged separate attacks on a TV station and a radio station in Torreón, in the northern state of Coahuila on February 9, killing a young engineer, Rodolfo Ochoa , in the attack on Canal 9 (Milenio TV), which is owned by the Multimedios Laguna group. Radio journalist gunned down in Port-au-Prince, motive unclear

IFJ deplores ‘inevitable tragedy’ as Egyptian journalist dies

The International Federation of Journalists today mourned the loss of the first journalist to die in the social unrest in Egypt. Journalist Ahmed Mohammed Mahmoud died in hospital in Cairo from injuries suffered after he was shot in the eye by a sniper on Monday last week. Journalist, wife hacked to death in city house in Bangladesh

A senior journalist of a daily and his wife were murdered as the police recovered the bodies from their Purana Paltan residence in capital Dhaka on Friday, according to Financial Express newspaper. Another journalist shot dead in Chhattisgarh

In a second such incident in Chhattisgarh, a journalist was shot dead by two masked gunmen in Raipur district, police said on Monday. Umesh Rajput, a reporter with Hindi daily Nai Duniya , was shot on Sunday night by the assailants outside his residence in Chura village, they said.
