PRAGUE, Feb 8 (CTK) - People are fed up with advertising on TV, and particularly on the privately-owned TV stations, a poll conducted by Factum Invenio has revealed.
Eighty percent of the respondents said advertising is excessive on TV Nova, some 60 percent said the same about TV Prima, and 50 percent about public broadcaster Czech Television.
On the other hand, respondents said there is still room for advertising in retail outlets and on public transport.
In 1999, 3 percent of respondents said they had enough of advertising on the Internet, and the percentage has since grown to 25 percent.
Advertising on the radio, in print media, and on billboards and posters is seen as not being out of proportion.
As for advertising in cinemas, 13 percent of people said there is too much of it.
The percentage of people fed up with flyers placed in their mail boxes has dropped from 73 percent in 2004 to the current 67 percent.
Nearly 40 percent of the respondents said that advertisements for tobacco products should be banned completely, and nearly one- quarter of them would ban ads for spirits.
On the other hand, people tolerate advertisements for food supplements, over-the-counter drugs and ads which contain erotic imagery.
The survey was conducted between 2 and 7 December, 2005 among 1,038 Czechs aged over 15.
