Jobs (urgent requirement)
A reputed company well-entrenched in the tourism industry is launching a B2B magazine in the very near future. The company is looking for the following for the venture (which would be both online and in print):
1) Copyeditor (2)
Qualifications: BA (English/Journalism / Economics) / BMC / BCom. (Postgrads too can apply).
Experience: 3-4 years, preferably in a B2B or tourism publication.
Abilities (Essential): Should be able to to write and rewrite copies. Should have an elementary news sense. Know communicably good English.
Abilities (Desirable): May be conversant with softwares like QuarkXpress and Photoshop/Corel. May be conversant with the tourism industry (mind you, this is not a travel magazine, so fluffy travelogues or articles about gardening and pets, etc, would not count)
Status: Full-time
2) Designer
Qualifications: Graduate. Those with designing background would be preferred.
Experience: 3-4 years in a periodical set-up.
Abilities (Essential): Should be thorough with softwares like QuarkXpress, Photoshop, Corel. Should be thorough with magazine layouts. Should know what it takes to produce a print-ready output.
Abilities (Desirable): May be able to design templates on one's own.
Status: Full-time.
3) Web exec
Qualifications: Graduate. Those who have studied web designing / development would be preferred.
Experience: 2-3 years.
Abilities (Essential): Should have elementary knowledge about server technologies, databases. Working knowledge of the MySQL/PHP/Apache platform is a must. Should be thorough with Drupal. HTML/CSS knowledge is a prerequisite.
Abilities (Desirable): Should be able to create new Drupal modules. Knowledge of Flash.
Status: One month contract.
Location: New Delhi (CR Park to be precise)
Deadline: ASAP. If you can join on December 1, it is all the more better.
Experience: Experience for all positions is only indicative. If you don't have the requisite experience, but have the ability to perform, then please don't hesitate to apply. But the essential abilities, needless to say, are essential.
Some pointers:
i) Candidates have to abide by deadlines and deliver. If you have the tendency to crack under pressure of deadlines, you are reading through the wrong ad.
ii) Don't make the mistake of mentioning either your religion or your caste in the CV.
