The police have booked cases against the activists of United Students Forum (USF), a fan outfit of the Telugu filmstar Chirenjeevi, for attacking a scribe of a regional satellite TV channel Saturday. The police said cases were registered against the USF activists for assalting reporter Ramesh, who was injured and later admitted to a hosptial.
The scribe was attacked by the activists after covering the meeting, organised by the USF at Sundariah Vignana Kendram. Heated works were exchanged between the reporter and the activists when Ramesh asked them to shift a car parked on the road disrupting vehicular taffic at the meeting venue leading to attack.
Police launched a hunt to arrest the activists. The USF was formed in support of Chiranjeevi following the recent statements made by his brother Naga Babu and his close associates that the actor would float a new political party by August this year.
