The police arrested godman Vikraman and ashram employees Ravichandran and Selvam in connection with the assualt.

Police said Vikraman has been running the ashram in Thillai Ganga Nagar near Adambakkam. He blesses followers by playing the flute and has come to be known as 'flute swami.'

Details:

On Thursday, Kennedy (30), a photographer of a bi-weekly magazine went to the ashram to take pictures. Some of the ashram employees objected to it and informed the godman. They caught hold of the photographer and bashed him up. The journalist claimed that they got a letter against the ashram from Shanthi Viswanathan, a retired bank employee from Egmore.

According to the complaint, Shanthi had approached the godman a few months ago and he predicted that she would marry a man soon. Incidentally, she was approached by a man.
