A reporter was shot dead by his sister-in-law's brother at Panki area in the district, the Kanpur police has said, according to a Press Trust of India (PTI) report.
Vinay, who was a reporter with a Delhi-based news organisation, had come to Allahabad to meet his brother and sister-in-law on Holi, SSP Anand Swaroop said. The trio, then went to Priya's brother's place, Ajay, at Panki where Vinay and Ajay got into an argument during which, in a fit of rage, Ajay allegedly shot Vinay.
Ajay then admitted Vinay to K P M Hospital and ran away. Later Vinay died in the hospital, he said. The other three were on Monday arrested from their Panki residence, he said. Ajay's relations with Vinay were reportedly strained for some time, police said.
