Panos South Asia invites Television journalists from India to apply for a fellowship to research and produce television features around HIV/AIDS in India.
There will be two fellowships, one to focus on the Northeast (one or more states) of India and the other will be for the rest of the country.
The Fellowship will run from October 2007 to Dec 2007.
Selected Fellows will be provided editorial support by a panel of health and communication experts. Additionally, they will be awarded a grant of Rs 2,00,000 ( Two Lakh) each, plus a budget ( Rs 80,000) for travel expenses.
Based on their investigative work, selected Fellows must produce:
1. At least two television stories ( three minutes to five minutes) to be broadcast on respective channels between October 2007 and December 2007
2. One half hour, in-depth report to be aired on the correspondent’s channel.
The documentary should reflect research and field work.
Applicants must submit the following no later than September 20, 2007:
• Curriculum vitae
• A brief (300 words) on how s/he will approach the in depth piece ( story idea)
• A 500-word write up explaining why the applicant should be considered for the fellowship
Journalists working in Indian languages are encouraged to apply. However, their CV and write-up should be in English.
