ISLAMABAD, June 13 (APP): Speaker National Assembly Chaudhry Amir Hussain said on Wednesday that matter relating to restriction on entry of a senior journalist in the Parliament House will soon be resolved amicably. Responding to a point of order, the Speaker said that the press has a very important role especially in the press gallery of the parliament.
The Speaker said he wanted to resolve this matter but made it clear that sanctity of the house would not be compromised.
"We discussed this matter with representatives of the press and a video film of the incident was shown to them," he added.
It was agreed that two passes would be issued for journalists of a big news organization and one of a small organization, to cover the proceeding of the house.
The Speaker said it was also agreed that the press representatives would bring all the grievances in his notice for resolving those adding that even the press would apprise the chair before walk out from the press gallery.
He observed that one should not back out of an issue which has been settled down.
Earlier, Liaquat Baloch of MMA urged the Speaker to lift restriction on a senior journalist for entry into the Parliament House.
