Miscreants attack Chardikala newspaper office in Patiala

PATIALA: Jagjit Singh Dardi, Editor-in-Chief of Chardikala Group of Newspapers on Monday alleged that a Congress leader and his partner in TV Channel Newstime had attacked his office and threatened to eliminate Dardi, Jatinderpal Singh Managing Editor and Raminder Singh Babbal Manager of Chardhikala Newspaper.

In a statement issue dhere Monday Dardi said that Labh Singh accompanied by miscreants first entered his house and when he didn't find him there he attacked the office of Chardhikala in GTB Nagar. He said that Labh Singh manhandeled Jatinderpal Singh and Babbal and threatened to cut Dardi into pieces.

Dardi said that Labh Singh came to his office with armed persons in a scorpio and a Verna car. He said that when his staff members tried to capture Labh Singh he escaped from site. The matter was immediately reported to Chowki Number 4 and police has started search for Labh Singh.

Dardi said that Labh Singh had issued threats on telephone and he was fearing attack on him. He said that Labh Singh had cheated him in deal for Newstime channel. He said that he had filed a suit for Rs.two crores recovery from Labh Singh.

Punjabnewsline.com Editor Satinder Bains has condemnded the attack on Chardhikala office and demanded immediate arrest of culprits. He described it attack on freedom of press for the sake of business interests.
