Amritsar, Apr 20: Three policemen, including two Head Constables, were today suspended for allegedly indulging in an immoral act with a woman in a car with tinted glasses in a posh area of the city, police said.
Senior Superintendent of Police Sudhanshu S Srivastava said that the incident came to light after a team of a private news channel reached the spot on the Mall Road here on Monday.
The SSP immediately sent Inspector Jagatpreet Singh to the spot where Head Constable Kulbir Singh was caught with the woman in the car while the other two cops --Traffic Constable Ashok Kumar and Head Constable Satinder Singh -- managed to escape.
All the three cops have been suspended with immediate effect, police said. The three have also secured bail from a local court.
Meanwhile, a correspondent of the Star TV Jagdip Singh Joban alleged that he had been offered a huge amount as bribe to hold the story which was being shown on the channel.
The correspondent alleged that he has been receiving threatening calls warming of dire consequences.
