A journalist of an English TV news channel, who was reporting live on holi celebrations in Chikpet area in Bangalore on Wednesday morning was molested by a gang of miscreants playing holi.
According to the police, a gang of miscreants allegedly poured gulal and water colours on the journalist before a live camera, and tore her clothes. There were over 40 persons, who were playing holi at that moment, the police said. The miscreants also damaged electronic equipment and the camera.
The journalist was immediately whisked away in the television OB van by the cameraman and the driver. Many of the miscreants were alleged to be high on bhang.
Shaken by the incident the journalist later said that a group of 40 hooligans poured water colours on her from behind.
She lodged a complaint with the Bangalore Police Commissioner on Wednesday.
