The trial in the Shivani Bhatnagar murder case, involving suspended Haryana IG R K Sharma and five other accused, inched towards conclusion after a city court today recorded the deposition of the 193rd witness out of the 200, says a Press Trust of India report in outlookindia.com.
With the matter being transferred to Fast Track Court on the direction of the Delhi High Court and only a few more witnesses left to depose, the verdict is likely to be delivered shortly.
Inspector Sukhbinder Singh of the Delhi Police Crime Branch, who had collected the finger-print samples from the spot, got his statements recorded before the Additional Sessions Judge(ASJ) Rajendra Kumar.
Singh, who was earlier Investigation Officer in the case, informed the ASJ that he had taken the prime accused Sharma for undergoing the polygraphic test. The recording of evidence was inconclusive and would continue on February, 23, the next date of hearing.
