MUMBAI: An editor of a local newspaper has lodged a complaint against a ward-level president of the Samajwadi Party, another journalist and an owner of a newspaper for allegedly molesting her.
The complainant, a 30-year-old woman, alleged Mehbub Faruqui (35), Surendra Dube (40) and Seeraj Shaikh, who is local ward president of Samajwadi Party, had molested her on the afternoon of February 1 at the party's office in Kamrajnagar in Ghatkopar in central Mumbai.
While Shaikh is an SP leader, Dube is a freelance journalist and Faruqui is owner of another local newspaper.
The woman told the police that the accused had asked her to come to the party office with a promise of arranging her meeting with another person with whom she had a relationship.
