A deal between New Delhi Television (NDTV) and Business Standard (BS) is expected for the infusion of programming content in the both has been turn on, according to sources. For mutuality, BS will struck a content sharing deal with the news broadcasting company promoted by Prannoy Roy, for a cooperative and mutually beneficial relationship between the two groups.
NDTV's efforts to provide viewers with qualitatively different content has yielded a big playback with one of the leading pink daily. The BS content will be a proliferation of news and current affairs for the NDTV television channel website, NDTVProfit.com and also with NDTV Profit joint content, it is clear that considerable innovativeness will be called for to survive and thrive, sources say.
Sources also say that Business Standard also wanted to invest in marketing, and that Govind Ethiraj has been appointed as New media editor, BS. He was earlier with CNBC-TV 18 as corporate editor.
NDTV is a prominent broadcaster and producer of news and current affairs based programmes. Whereas it used to primarily produce programmes for Star TV till then, since April 2003, NDTV has launched and successfully run its own news channels, namely NDTV 24X7 (English), NDTV Profit (English) and NDTV India (Hindi). The main plus points of this company include its promoter’s brand equity and its growing market share in the vital and intensely competitive Hindi language segment. In the English language segment, it ranks well above the rest of the pack.
