The Ministry of Water Resources has instituted two awards for media reporting on 'water'. One award is regarding the print media in the category of best published researched story and the other is for the electronic media for thought provoking telecasted docu-feature. The award in each category consists of Rs 50,000 in cash, a trophy and a citation.
Besides, awards have also been instituted on research based original essay(s) written by students on the themes relating to problems in water sectors and possible solutions thereof. The top three entries will be selected by a jury and an award of Rs 25,000 in cash, a citation and a specially designed trophy will be presented to each of them. Only one essay will be entertained from one student.
The awards will be presented on the "World Water Day" function on March 22, 2006.
The contenders for the above prize(s) may forward their entries by 15.1.2006 in the prescribed proforma, along with three copies of the proposed work in floppy/VCD/write-ups to Meeta Singh, Deputy Secretary (C&PPP), Room No. 627, Ministry of Water Resources, Shram Shakti Bhavan, Rafi Marg, New Delhi-110001.
