Webby Awards 2006 - call for entries begins

The call for entries for 10th annual 'Webby Awards' has begun with an early entry deadline of 28 October 2005 and a final entry deadline of 16 December 2005. The awards are the international honours for websites and the innovators behind them. In its 10th year, the Webby Awards is being presented by The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, a 500-member body of leading web experts, business figures, luminaries, visionaries and creative celebrities.

ELIGIBILITY

The 10th Annual Webby Award Competition is open to all organizations and individuals involved in designing, building, managing, maintaining, marketing or promoting web sites for business, consumer or general audiences. Web sites entered must have been in general use for at least part of calendar year 2005 and be live and accessible from the time of entry through June 2006.

Sites that have won awards in past Webby Awards Competitions are eligible for the current competition. There is no limit to the number of entries that may be submitted by any entrant, nor is there a limit to the number of categories a site may enter. A completed online entry form and fee must accompany each site entered.

Language Limitation: While non-English speaking Web sites are not explicitly forbidden, sites must be accessible to our predominantly English speaking judges. In categories that may not depend on language, such as (but not limited to) NetArt, Best Visual Design and Weird, non-English speaking sites are eligible if they are highly visual or otherwise not dependent on language.

Unacceptable Material: Sites that contain pornographic material, propagate "hate" messages, make defamatory statements, or which are otherwise extraordinarily offensive are not eligible.

Disqualification: Ineligible entries may be disqualified at any phase of the competition without notification.

Acknowledgement of Entries: Entrants will receive an email acknowledgement when an entry has been received.

Terms and Conditions of Entry: The Webby Awards assumes all entries are original and the entrant either owns the website or has permission from a client or other appropriate party to enter the work, with all rights granted therein. In the event that an entrant without such rights submits a site, the entrant will not be eligible for the competition. The Webby Awards are not liable for any copyright infringement on the part of the entrant. Submission of any entry acknowledges the right of The Webby Awards to use it for exhibition and publication in any medium.

Timely submission of an entry meeting the eligibility requirements and payment of the entry fee as stated herein ensures that an entrant's site will be reviewed and considered for recognition. No other representation or warranty is made by The Webby Awards concerning entries and all implied warranties are hereby expressly disclaimed.

If an entrant's site receives an award, the manner and details of announcing such nomination and award is strictly within the discretion of The Webby Awards. Entrant understands that all awards may not be given or publicized in the same manner and some might be presented in a ceremony and others might not.

The discounted early entry deadline fee is $195 USD per site for each category entered.
