Yahoo! has made its first move into original online video programming by hiring a seasoned TV news reporter to report on wars worldwide.
"Kevin Sites in the Hot Zone" launches Sept. 26 and will focus entirely on his travels as a war correspondent, The New York Times reported Monday.
Yahoo!'s Lloyd Braun told the Times the Web portal is looking to develop signature programming news, sports, health, entertainment and finance.
Sites said during the next year, he plans to visit every place defined by international organizations as a war or conflict zone. He will file daily dispatches as well as photographs, travelogues and video reports.
Sites has worked as a producer and reporter for NBC and CNN. He is probably best known for his video of an apparently unarmed Iraqi prisoner being killed by a U.S. soldier in a Fallujah mosque last year.
His reports will be found at hotzone.yahoo.com.
