Young journalists in India and Pakistan can enter a competition for the chance to visit CNN’s global headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, in the United States. Another award will send the best cameraperson to the network’s regional headquarters in Hong Kong.
Categories
- Television: Open to all young journalists working (or freelancing) with television news channels, (including CNN's broadcast affiliates in India and Pakistan), that are owned and controlled by local entities in India and Pakistan.
- Print/ Online: Open to all young journalists writing (or freelancing) for Print/ Online media in India and Pakistan, that are owned and controlled by local entities in India and Pakistan.
- Cameraperson of the Year: Open to all young camerapersons working (or freelancing) with television news channels (including CNN's broadcast affiliates in India and Pakistan), that are owned and controlled by local entities in India and Pakistan.
The best and valid entry in Television and Print/ Online category will each win:
- The title 'CNN Young Journalist of the Year'
- Permission to observe and assist at the CNN news bureau in Atlanta for a week during the period April to May 2006
- A return economy airfare for each prize winner from an airport - closest to the prize-winner’s residence - to Atlanta, Georgia (United States of America) and up to 7 nights’ accommodation only at a hotel in Atlanta
The second best and valid entry in Television and Print/ Online category will each win:
- Permission to observe and assist at the CNN news bureau in New Delhi for winners from India or CNN news bureau in Islamabad for winners from Pakistan prior to June 2006 for up to 7 days, and
- Return transportation and up to 7 nights’ accommodation only at a hotel in Delhi or Islamabad
The best and valid entry of the "Cameraperson of the Year" category will win:
- The title 'CNN Cameraperson of the Year'
- An opportunity to visit CNN’s regional headquarters in Hong Kong for a week during the period of April to May 2006;
- A return economy airfare from an airport — closest to the Prize Winner’s residence - to Hong Kong and up to 7 nights’ accommodation only at a hotel in Hong Kong.
