Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on Tuesday ordered a probe into the incident of assault on photojournalists by the police while the former were covering a protest rally in Srinagar last week. Deputy Director General of Police Kuldeep Khuda has been appointed as the inquiry officer.
The probe was ordered after the photojournalists held a protest march here from the Press Enclave to CM's official residence.
They were demanding action against SSP Srinagar Syed Ahmad Sayeed for ordering his men to use "their muscle" against a group of photojournalists while they were covering the funeral procession of a woman and her daughter who died in a grenade explosion in Lal Chowk on Thursday.
However, Mufti has assured that action would be taken against the guilty.
