The Indian Institute of Journalism and New Media (IIJNM) has announced plans to offer television journalism courses during the upcoming academic year.
The institute says that TV journalism students will learn how to write and edit broadcast news as reporters, editors and producers. They will also learn to use the latest TV production equipment in hands-on classroom exercises.
New courses added to the school's roster include: Reporting and Writing for Television; Tools of Television Journalism; Advanced Television News Management; and Television News Magazines.
IIJNM opened in January 2001 to improve the quality of journalism and elevate the stature of the profession in India. The one-year program was developed in association with the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in New York.
